The battle for second through fifth was one of the tightest age-group scraps on the day. Bianca Toledo (2:43:46) ran a controlled race, moving from 96th to 37th among women and flashing the 27th-fastest women's split from the half to 25K. Ari Wing (2:44:09) came on strong late with the 23rd-fastest women's split from 35K to 40K, climbing from 127th to 50th among women. Sarah Fogarty (2:44:15) shadowed Wing nearly stride for stride over that same stretch — 26th-fastest on the 35K–40K segment — finishing just six seconds behind her. Kennedy Rufener (2:44:17) had looked dangerous through 30K but faded slightly over the next five kilometers before holding on for 5th, a mere two seconds behind Fogarty.

Behind the lead pack, the field spread out considerably. Bailey Ness (6th, 2:46:28) and Allison Dorr (7th, 2:47:32) separated themselves from the next wave, with Aryn Embretson (8th, 2:48:18) rounding out a strong top eight.
