Patrick didn't just lead wire-to-wire; she posted the fastest women's split on the 3M→Finish stretch, meaning she actually accelerated as others held or faded. The margin over second place was 2:33 — commanding by any measure.

Behind her, the real drama played out in the closing miles. Amanda Morgan, 40, from Fairfield, CT, held second in 40:22 at 6:30/mi — a strong, steady run that never wavered. Megan Serratore (40:48) and Karin Coyne (40:49) waged a tighter battle: Coyne ran the 3rd-fastest women's closing split and Serratore the 4th-fastest, but Serratore's early cushion proved just barely enough — one second separating them at the line.
