M30-39: Teeter Dominates in Santa Rosa's Morning Mist

Under cool, misty Santa Rosa skies — 60°F and thick with 91% humidity — Jonathan Teeter turned the M30-39 race into a solo time trial almost from the gun. The 37-year-old local ran 5:43/mi to finish in 35:29, a margin so commanding that second place Patrick Martin (40:18) crossed the line nearly five full minutes later. In a 10K, that's not a race for the win — that's a different race entirely.

Behind Teeter, the real competition played out. Martin, running 6:29/mi, held off fellow San Francisco Bay Area runner Ricardo Abad by just three seconds — Abad's 40:21 at 6:30/mi was close enough to make it interesting, but Martin had just enough. Then came a tight cluster for 4th and 5th: Kyle Feuerhelm (42:33) and Samuel Mueller (42:38) were separated by only five seconds at 6:51 and 6:52/mi respectively, while Jesse Edelsberg rounded out the top six in 42:56.

The battle for the top 20 stayed competitive well into the pack. Andrew Bolton took 7th in 44:15, with Juan Cibrian (46:10) in 8th. A trio of runners — Joe Gutierrez (47:34), Tucker Wildberger (47:40), and Ali Samii (47:46) — filled 9th through 11th within a 12-second window. And at 12th and 13th, Inmer Rodriguez (48:12) and William Devenish (48:13) were separated by a single second, one of the sharpest margins in the top 20. Sameer Singh and Stephen Denna both clocked 50:26 and 50:25 to claim 19th and 20th in an 82-man field that showed real depth throughout.
