• Kevin Kirk, 25, rounds out the podium in 1:06:55, having held 2nd through the 5K→10K segment (where he posted the 2nd-fastest men's split) before Casarez's late charge pushed him to 3rd.
• Hassan Eissa, 35, takes 1st in his age group despite a patient opening, climbing steadily from 33rd among men at 5K all the way to 18th by the finish in 1:15:06.

From the gun, Adam Moore ran at the front. He led the men's field at every checkpoint — 1st at 5K, 1st at 10K, 1st at 15K — and backed that up with the fastest men's split on the 5K→10K segment. On a misty December morning in Dallas, running 5:04/mi through the streets from City Hall and back, Moore looked like a man in complete control. Kevin Kirk was right on his shoulder through the middle miles, posting the 2nd-fastest men's split over that same 5K→10K stretch, and at 15K Kirk still sat 2nd.

That's when Eric Casarez made his move. The Fort Worth 25-year-old had sat patiently in 4th through 10K, then surged hard enough to post the fastest men's split on the entire 15K→Finish segment — catching Kirk and closing to within six seconds of Moore at the line. Six seconds over 13.1 miles is as tight as it gets, and Casarez's 1:06:25 finish made it a genuine nail-biter. Kirk held on for 3rd in 1:06:55, a finish that required real work to protect after Casarez's charge.

Behind the podium, Sergio Mena (7th, 1:09:41) and Alex Speer (9th, 1:09:53) were the next men across, followed by Casey Novelo (11th, 1:10:50) and Matt Campbell (13th, 1:11:14). Hassan Eissa's 1:15:06 — built on a steady climb through the field from 33rd to 18th among men — was quietly one of the day's more impressive performances, including the 11th-fastest men's split on the 12.5K→15K segment. Brent Woodle (15th, 1:12:24) and Marco Lagona (16th, 1:13:03) rounded out the top 16 in a deep, competitive men's field on a cool, damp Dallas morning.
