Amir Barkan, 24, from Fairfax, CA, put this race away from the front. Running a 10:13/mi average across a course that climbs to nearly 8,820 feet — with thin air that can punish anyone not well-prepared for altitude — he held 4th among all men from the Siberia checkpoint onward and never relinquished it. His 3rd-fastest Siberia→High Camp split among all men tells you where the race was decided: on the climb, Barkan was simply in a different gear than anyone else in the M20-29 field.

Gavin Lynch, 22, out of Hermosa Beach, was the story of the chase pack. He entered the Siberia segment ranked 15th among men and steadily picked his way through the field, reaching 9th by the finish. His 7th-fastest Siberia→High Camp split among men was the engine of that charge — but the 10:45 gap to Barkan meant the title was never in doubt. Lynch's 2:05:04 still represents a commanding margin over 3rd-place Josiah McMahan, who crossed at 2:15:46.

McMahan, the youngest man on the podium at 20, had a rocky middle stretch — sliding to 26th among men at High Camp — but rallied hard on the final leg, posting the 13th-fastest High Camp→Finish split among all men to reclaim 19th in the men's field and lock up 3rd in M20-29 at 2:15:46. Behind him, Ruben Coronel (2:30:29) and Ryan Hayes (2:43:50) rounded out the top five, while James Curran (2:45:43), Hafid Limones (2:56:07), and Dillon Fitts (2:59:59) completed a tight cluster through 8th. Joshua Gazzaniga finished 9th in 3:00:38, just 39 seconds behind Fitts, with Jeremy Arvesen (3:04:36) and Gem Figueroa (3:06:03) rounding out the top eleven.
