Britta Johnson of Carnelian Bay, CA, controlled the Girls U-20 race from start to finish. Her 1:06:33 — averaging 10:43 per mile across a course ranging from 6,302 to nearly 8,000 feet — was never seriously threatened, and she closed with the 8th-fastest women's split on the Snow King→Finish segment, demonstrating she had plenty left in the tank when others were fading. At this altitude, where thinner air can punish anyone who goes out too hard, Johnson's pacing looked composed and deliberate.

Aili Scott of Truckee — who, notably, trains and lives close to this very course — crossed in 1:10:23 (11:20/mi) for second, holding 11th among women throughout. Fellow Carnelian Bay local Niki Johnson finished third in 1:11:46 (11:33/mi), just 1:23 behind Scott. Those two ran a similar tempo down the closing stretch — Scott posting the 10th-fastest women's split on Snow King→Finish, Niki the 12th — but Scott had built enough of a cushion earlier to hold the gap comfortably.

The real drama in the back half of the field belonged to Hannah Fendler of Asheville, NC. She finished 4th in 1:20:09 but made her presence felt on the closing segment, running the 23rd-fastest women's split on Snow King→Finish and climbing from 28th to 26th among women — the strongest finishing kick in the U-20 field. Summer Roleson (5th, 1:31:06) and Juliana Fulton (6th, 1:32:51) rounded out the six-finisher field, separated by just 1:45 at the line.
