Ritsuko Matono of San Mateo ran a composed, measured race through the fog and 15 mph wind off San Francisco Bay. She entered the women's field around 29th and held steady through the midpoint before making her move — climbing from 26th among women to 20th by mile 16, right as she was posting that standout 14th-fastest women's split through the 14–16M stretch. From there she managed her position home, crossing in 3:17:52 at 7:33/mi to claim the F50-54 title by a clear margin.

Yanhong Zhang, 54, out of Woodland, CA, told a different story — a patient grind forward through the women's field. She ran from 56th among women at the early checkpoint all the way up to 36th by mile 22, then closed with the 19th-fastest women's split on the final miles 20–22 to finish 2nd in 3:25:11. That late charge was one of the sharpest moves in the field on those closing miles.

Brandi Dawson of Westlake, OH rounded out the podium in 3:35:27, though her journey there was a grind — she spent much of the race deep in the women's field (as far back as 78th among women) before holding on for 3rd. Kara Mcclaskey of Portland was 4th in 3:40:22, having run a strong opening — she posted the 41st-fastest women's split on miles 2–4 — but faded through the back half, sliding from 52nd among women to 99th before recovering slightly. Amy Burton of San Jose rounded out the top five in 3:41:43, a strong showing from a runner who spent the entire race working her way forward from 130th among women at the early miles.
