Mo Bartley made the F70-99 race her own from the start. Running 11:57/mi across ten miles in 69°F heat, she finished in 1:59:27 — a full 43 minutes ahead of the next finisher — and held steady at 13th among all women throughout. Her Fire Station→HWY 49 split ranked 10th among all women in the field, a remarkable show of sustained speed for any age group, let alone one that starts at 70.

Behind her, the real drama played out between Jan Jones and Randy Wong. Jones, of Roseville, came through in 2:42:53 (16:17/mi), while Wong closed in 2:45:51 (16:35/mi) — a gap of just under three minutes. Wong was the more aggressive finisher down the stretch, posting the 52nd-fastest women's split on the HWY 49→Finish leg and moving from 71st to 66th among women in the process. Jones held her advantage, but Wong was clearly the one making up ground when it mattered.

Kai Parks, at 75 the oldest finisher in the group, completed the course in 3:01:01 — crossing the line at 18:06/mi. Parks slipped from 76th to 80th among women over the final segment, but finishing a hilly 10-miler at 75 years old on a warm March morning in Cool, CA, is its own kind of statement.
