Rivilla Arias, 40, was in a class of her own in the F40-44 age group at Berlin. Her 2:36:16 at a 5:58/mi average wasn't just a win — it was a statement, built on the 21st-fastest first-half split among all women in the race. She entered the women's field at 22nd and worked her way steadily to 17th by the tape, a controlled, confident performance from start to finish.

Behind her, Melissa Paauwe ran a composed 2:46:03 to claim second, posting the 39th-fastest women's split on the 35K–40K segment — a strong late push that helped her advance from 54th among women early on to 33rd at the finish. Danielle Cook rounded out the podium in 2:50:59, her best segment coming between 30K and 35K where she clocked the 55th-fastest women's split in the field, moving from 75th to 53rd among women overall.

The most electric storyline in the top 10 belonged to Annika Uckel. She crossed the first checkpoint buried in 365th place among women — a position that looked terminal for any podium ambitions — but ran herself all the way to 106th among women by the finish, good for 5th in the age group in 2:59:28. Gabriela Chammas (4th, 2:56:45) and Yvonne McNairn (6th, 2:57:47) also delivered strong closing legs, with Chammas posting the 63rd-fastest women's split from 40K to the finish.

With 2,631 finishers, the F40-44 age group at Berlin 2025 was a genuine mass-participation race within a race — and at the front of it, Rivilla Arias made it look nearly effortless.
