The Wauwatosa, WI 43-year-old crossed in 5:24:43 — nearly 56 minutes clear of anyone else in the F40-49 field — at a 11:22/mi average on a course that climbs to nearly 8,833 feet, laced with light rain and 10 mph wind on race day. Her defining move came on the Snow King 1→KT 1 segment, where she ran the fastest women's split of anyone in the field and vaulted from 45th to 21st among women in a single stretch. She never relinquished that momentum, finishing 25th among women overall.

The battle behind her was a genuine contest. San Francisco's Linden Rees (6:20:41, 2nd) and South Lake Tahoe local Lyndsey Bednar (6:26:52, 3rd) ran within six and a half minutes of each other across more than six hours of racing. Rees made her move late — posting the 37th-fastest women's split on the High Camp 2→Finish segment — while Bednar's strength came on Snow King 2→KT 2, where she clocked the 43rd-fastest women's split.

Jessica Hamilton's afternoon deserves its own spotlight. The Tahoe City 43-year-old finished 4th in 6:36:19, but she came into the 46K having already raced to 2nd in the Women's 5 Mile Iron Face Challenge at this same event — a genuine double that few in the field could match. She showed her legs still had something left, running the 2nd-fastest women's split on Snow King 1→KT 1, trailing only Schmitz on that stretch. Fellow Tahoe City resident Megan Michelson closed out the field in 5th at 6:38:36, finishing 37th among women and posting the 44th-fastest women's split on High Camp 2→Finish.
