Kristi Young, 53, of Reno was in a class of her own on Sunday. Running at 6:44 per mile, she crossed in 2:56:29 — the only woman in the F50-54 field to go under the three-hour barrier. Her path through the women's field wasn't perfectly linear; she drifted as far back as 202nd among women late in the race, but her time was never truly in jeopardy. That sub-2:57 stands as the defining number of the day in this age group.

Behind her, Jessica Stanford (3:01:35, 6:56/mi) and Mary Pardi (3:02:57, 6:59/mi) ran the closest battle on the podium — just 82 seconds separating second from third across 26.2 miles in the rain. Stanford was the steadier mover, climbing from 333rd to 287th among women over the course of the race. Pardi took the opposite approach: she was still 327th among women at 35K but finished with real momentum, her 212th-fastest women's split on the closing stretch nearly bridging the gap to Stanford.

Sara Johnson (4th, 3:07:07) and Michele Van Ornum (5th, 3:14:01) rounded out the top five, with Van Ornum — the only Fresno runner in the top five — posting the 426th-fastest women's split on the opening 5K-to-10K stretch before settling into her 7:24/mi pace. Jennifer Bayliss (6th, 3:16:06) and Bonnie Chuter (7th, 3:19:50) kept it competitive deeper in the field, while Tara Daub (8th, 3:20:20) and Rebecca FitzGerald (9th, 3:20:33) were separated by just 13 seconds. All told, 282 women in their 50s toed the line at CIM and got it done in the rain — led home decisively by Young.
