Five boys lined up for the M0-14 half marathon in Cleveland, and Isaac Bogner made it look like a different race entirely. The 14-year-old from Mentor, OH, crossed in 1:22:16 at a 6:17/mi clip — a pace that would be formidable in any age group. He was steadily climbing through the men's field all morning, moving from 37th among men at the first checkpoint to as high as 22nd by mile 12.6, before settling at 23rd at the finish. His 10K-to-12.6M split was the 19th-fastest of any man on that segment — a genuinely impressive surge in the back half of a warm, humid race.

Behind Bogner, the real drama played out between Kadyn Nguyen of Copley and Caden Riley of Shreve. Nguyen ran a controlled 1:51:19 (8:29/mi) to take 2nd, while Riley's 1:54:54 (8:46/mi) earned 3rd — a gap of 3:35 that reflects two very different race strategies. Riley was the stronger early mover, sitting well up the men's field through 5K, but he faded significantly from mile 5 onward, dropping hundreds of places in the men's standings by the final stretch. Nguyen, by contrast, ran a more consistent second half to hold him off comfortably.

Jazmeer Latten of Medina finished 4th in 2:08:08 (9:46/mi), managing the heat steadily enough to actually gain back a few places in the men's field between mile 12.6 and the finish — his 12.6M-to-finish split was a relative bright spot. Clayton Lafferty of Granville closed out the group in 5th at 2:41:02, working through 13.1 miles at 12:17/mi on a day when the 75°F heat and 68% humidity made every mile feel longer than the last.
