Then came the decisive moment. Between 20K and 25K, Watychowicz unleashed the fastest women's split of that segment, vaulting from fifth to second and then — within the data's next checkpoint — into first. At 5:50/mi across 26.2 miles, her winning time of 2:33:08 was a full 2:09 ahead of Belyeu's 2:35:17. Yator's fade from first to fifth tells the other great story of the day. Her early aggression, including the fastest 5K→10K women's split, proved difficult to sustain over 26.2 miles in 92% humidity, and she crossed in 2:39:54. Maddie Van Beek (Fargo, ND) was a composed sixth in 2:43:06, while the battle for seventh and eighth produced one of the tightest finishes of the day — Becker and Schwoerer both stopping the clock at 2:48:16, with Becker edging ahead by mere tenths. Among 2,791 women finishers on 'The Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America,' the top of the field delivered a race that earned the billing.
