M15-19: Sullivan Linsler Runs Away With the Cleveland 10K Teen Title

• Sullivan Linsler (age 19, Dunkirk, NY) won the M15-19 age group in 47:24 (7:38/mi), nearly two minutes clear of the field.
• Grant Lonczak (age 16, Northfield, OH) claimed 2nd in 49:10, holding off Landon Arnold (3rd, 49:55) by 45 seconds — the closest battle on the podium.
• The top nine finishers were separated by just over seven minutes, while a notable gap opened between 9th (Dominic Silvestri, 54:54) and 10th (Emerson Hutt, 1:02:26).
• The youngest finisher, John Murray (age 15, Ypsilanti, MI), crossed 15th in 1:12:58 — a solid showing against mostly older competition.

Sullivan Linsler set the tone early and never let up. His 7:38/mi average was the sharpest pace in the M15-19 field on a humid Cleveland morning — 67°F with 83% humidity and a 15 mph wind — and the 1:46 gap he put between himself and 2nd place Grant Lonczak tells the story of a race that was decided well before the finish line.

Behind Linsler, Lonczak (7:55/mi) and Arnold (8:02/mi) ran their own quiet duel. Lonczak's pace was meaningfully quicker than Arnold's, and he held that edge through the finish to secure 2nd by 45 seconds. Luke Schmotzer (4th, 51:23, 8:16/mi) and Adam Jackson Jr. (5th, 52:30, 8:27/mi) rounded out the top five within a minute and a half of each other, keeping that mid-pack battle genuinely competitive. Jaiden Copley (6th, 53:21) and Corbin Macgillis (7th, 53:35) were likewise tight, just 14 seconds apart, with Blake Burke (8th, 54:10) and Silvestri (9th, 54:54) closing out a dense top-nine cluster.

The back half of the field told a different story. Emerson Hutt's 1:02:26 in 10th opened a seven-and-a-half-minute gap on Silvestri, and from there the final eight finishers spread across roughly 11 minutes of racing. Landon Brown (17th, 1:13:44) and Sean Lee (16th, 1:13:32) were separated by just 12 seconds at the back, while 15-year-old Murray's 1:12:58 in 15th showed the youngest competitor in the group still had plenty of fight on a tough weather day.
