Emily Raymond made this one look straightforward. The 44-year-old from Gates Mills ran a steady 6:51/mi to post 42:33, finishing 57 seconds ahead of the next woman across the line. In a race where humidity and wind had real teeth, that kind of margin doesn't happen by accident.

Behind her, the battle for 2nd and 3rd was a different story entirely. Michelle Hrehocik (North Royalton, 43:30) held off Kristy Fritz (Bay Village, 43:43) by just 13 seconds — two athletes running 7:00 and 7:02 per mile respectively, close enough that either could have taken the silver with a slightly different day. Then came a genuine gap back to 4th: Katie Szefcyk (Lakewood, 45:55) and Katherine Wozniak (Shaker Heights, 46:16) ran their own tight contest more than two minutes off the podium pace.

The 50-plus contingent delivered one of the race's more compelling sub-plots. Marissa Cancilla, 50, from Strongsville, ran 48:13 to take 7th — finishing just six seconds ahead of 53-year-old Janet Winslow (Elyria, 48:19). Holly Baker, also 53 (Solon), was close behind in 9th at 49:31, and Renee Barrett, 52 (Avon), rounded out the top ten in 49:43. Four women 50 and older inside the top ten is a statement about the depth of this field.

Further down, the 11th-through-20th positions were packed into a roughly four-minute window — Shauna Hanley (50:51) through Carolyn Pullin (54:27) — with Carrie Bordas and Megan Kerns separated by just one second (52:02 and 52:03) in 13th and 14th. All 214 finishers earned it on a day when the conditions demanded something extra.
