Sacramento's foggy, humid morning set the stage for a seven-woman battle in the F50-59 age group, and Claudia Bustillos of Eastvale ran the most assertive race of the bunch. She crossed in 2:14:12 — a 10:15/mi effort — and posted the 17th-fastest women's split on the Out & Back-to-Lap 1 segment, a stretch where she was already threading her way through the women's field. Her gender place did slip from 14th to 19th as the race wore on, but none of her F50-59 rivals could close the gap, and she took the age-group win by over two minutes.

Michelle Carrasco, 56, out of Elk Grove, was the model of consistency. After settling into 20th among women by mid-race, she held that exact position all the way to the tape — 2:16:20, 10:24/mi — and backed it up with the 17th-fastest women's split on Lap 1 to the finish. She ran that closing stretch faster than Bustillos ran the same segment, but the gap had already been established; Carrasco's strong finish earned second place, not a reversal.

The most dramatic movement in the group belonged to Jennifer Ras of Costa Mesa. Running 11:17/mi to finish in 2:27:49, Ras climbed from 31st among women at the first checkpoint all the way to 23rd by the finish — the sharpest upward move in the F50-59 field. She also posted the 18th-fastest women's split on that final leg, edging Claudia Wirth (2:28:16, 11:19/mi) by just 27 seconds for third. Neli Palma rounded out the top five in 2:32:34, while Joy Stringer finished sixth in 2:42:06. Natalie Uyeno completed all 13.1 miles in 3:46:16 to claim seventh.
