Noah Patterson simply ran away from a 342-man M50-54 field. His 6:18/mi average produced a 1:22:35 that left no drama at the top — by the time he crossed the line, second place was still more than four minutes back. His move through the men's field told the same story: he was pushing steadily forward all race long, climbing from 72nd to 64th among men over the second half.

The real theater unfolded behind him, where Lucius Juma and David Chia ran 13.1 miles to a near-identical finish. Juma, 50, from Newport Beach, clocked 1:26:55; Chia, 51, from Irvine, crossed in 1:26:56. Both averaged 6:38/mi, but they got there differently. Juma was the stronger closer — he posted the 77th-fastest split among women from 10.8 miles to the finish, climbing from 161st to 119th in the men's field over the course of the race. Chia, by contrast, had his best relative moment on the middle segment (5.5M to 10.8M, 133rd-fastest among women) but faded slightly in the final stretch, slipping from 112th to 120th among men. Juma caught up and edged him by one second.

Charles Sipkins (4th, 1:29:07, 6:48/mi) and Andrew Lapin (5th, 1:31:32, 6:59/mi) rounded out the top five, with Christopher Errecart (6th, 1:32:21, 7:03/mi) and Greg Sambrano (7th, 1:33:24, 7:07/mi) not far behind. Further down, Adan Benitez and Peter Yeh — both of Long Beach and Pomona respectively — tied the clock at 1:43:24 for 16th and 17th, with only the timing chip separating them.
