Anna David put together a commanding performance in the F50-54 age group at the Rocket City Marathon Back Half, crossing in 1:53:49 at an 8:41-per-mile clip — a pace that left the field well behind on a humid, overcast December morning in Huntsville. Lynn Gaumer of Ankeny, Iowa made it a respectable chase, finishing 2nd in 1:57:37, while Lara Walters of Vestavia Hills rounded out the podium in 1:58:48. The top three were separated by just under five minutes, but David was never truly threatened.

The real drama in the closing miles belonged to Donna Pepper. Starting the 10K-to-Finish segment ranked 69th among women, she put down the 33rd-fastest women's split on that stretch to rocket up to 49th — a gain of 20 places — and secure 4th in the age group in 2:02:11.
