Barbara Bauer, a 69-year-old local, made her home-course advantage count immediately. Her 11:14/mi pace was a full minute per mile faster than runner-up Suzanne Murphy's 12:16/mi, and that gap translated into a commanding 3:15 winning margin. In a race this short, there's no hiding — Bauer simply ran away from the field from the start.

Murphy held firm in 2nd at 38:08, with fellow Californian Christine Spicola — making the trip up from Rancho Cucamonga — finishing 3rd in 40:41.
