By the time the field hit 10.65M, he had taken the lead for good, crossing in 1:14:11 at a 5:40/mi clip that no one in the field could match.

Behind him, the podium was decided by who had gas left in the tank. Griffin Schreader of San Francisco had been quietly moving through the field — 13th among men early, 5th at the finish — and his 6th-fastest men's split on the closing leg made 2nd place his in 1:21:59. Justin LaCoursiere of New York told a wilder story: buried in 90th place among men at the first checkpoint, he ran one of the most relentless comebacks in the field, posting the 3rd-fastest men's split from 10.65M to the finish to claim 3rd in 1:24:36. That's a 77-place swing from checkpoint one to the podium.

Abraham Tax (4th, 1:27:39) had the opposite trajectory — strong early with the 21st-fastest men's split on the middle segment, but fading in the back half as LaCoursiere and Schreader came flying past. Thai Bui rounded out the top five in 1:30:00, with Neeraj Bahl just 20 seconds back in 6th at 1:30:20. From 7th through 10th — Chagar, Pettersson, Crowe, and Abbot — the spread was just 33 seconds across four runners, making that stretch of the leaderboard one of the afternoon's most competitive battles.
