What makes his run even more striking is the arc he traced through the men's field: he sat 36th among men early, slipped back to 44th, then steadily clawed forward through every subsequent checkpoint — 37th, 31st, 24th — finishing 22nd among the men. That's a race run with patience and built on relentless forward momentum. His Waterfall→Finish split ranked 11th among the men, a strong closing surge when others were fading.

Jason Fazio (2nd, 14:41:28) had a rougher trajectory — he moved as far back as 41st among the men before rallying to finish 33rd — but he held the gap to Niccum at just over an hour and kept Quine well behind him.
