F60-64 at UTMB Ultra Trail: Odell holds on across 145 km to claim the title

• Deanna Odell won the F60-64 field in 42:18:04, finishing 18:45 ahead of runner-up Agnes Bossis (42:36:49) and nearly 53 minutes clear of Alison Jane Gould (43:10:48).
• Odell posted the 28th-fastest women's split on the Bourg Saint-Maurice Entrée→Sortie segment; Gould ran the 11th-fastest women's split on that same stretch — a significant catch-up that, in the end, wasn't enough to close a gap built over the preceding 100-plus kilometers.
• Bossis delivered the 43rd-fastest women's split on Signal S→Les Contamines Montjoie, a strong early-race move that helped her hold second place through to Chamonix.

Three women started the night in Courmayeur and three finished in Chamonix — no small feat on the most technical race of UTMB week, 145 km of trail with more than 9,500 meters of climbing across the Beaufortain region. At a pace of 28:10 per mile, Deanna Odell navigated the thin air and relentless vertical to take the F60-64 title. Her gender place tracker tells the real story of how she ran it: she climbed steadily from 110th among women at the first checkpoint all the way to 62nd by the fifth, before a slight drift back to 70th in the closing stretch — the kind of late-race fade that's almost inevitable after 40-plus hours on trail, and one that didn't cost her the win.

Agnes Bossis opened the race with real aggression. Starting at 64th among women, she was already at 90th by the second checkpoint — a sign she went out hard — before methodically clawing back to 72nd by the finish in 42:36:49. Her fastest segment came early, on Signal S→Les Contamines Montjoie, where she ran the 43rd-fastest women's split in the field. She held second in F60-64 throughout and never let Odell's lead feel threatened.

Alison Jane Gould, also 60, was the quiet mover of the three. She tracked from 111th among women down to 74th by the fourth checkpoint and largely held that position home, finishing in 43:10:48. Her 11th-fastest women's split on the Bourg Saint-Maurice segment showed she had genuine pace in her legs at that point in the race — faster there than either of her F60-64 rivals — but the time deficit to Bossis (34 minutes) and Odell (nearly 53 minutes) had been locked in long before that stretch. All three across the line in Chamonix: a full podium, hard-earned.
