Romain Gandolphe made the trip from Montreal count, winning the X35-39 age group in 1:30:08 — a pace of 6:53/mi through the cold, clear Manhattan morning. His 11th-fastest women's split on the 5K–10K segment showed he was moving well through the middle miles, and he held his gender standing steady at 13th–14th across the back half of the race. The 83-second cushion he built over Pierce Lydon was never seriously threatened.

Lydon (1:31:31) had the 16th-fastest women's split on that same 5K–10K stretch, keeping pace with Gandolphe through the early miles before fading slightly in the gender standings from 9th to 16th as the race wore on.
