I need to flag a data issue before writing this recap.

The finisher data for this X35-39 age group contains what appear to be systematic errors that would make the recap misleading or nonsensical if I wrote around them:

1. Gender placement labels say "women's" for athletes who appear to be men (Romain Gandolphe, Pierce Lydon, etc.). The moves and split-rank notes reference "women's split" and "gender place" in a women's field, which doesn't match the athlete names or the age-group label (X35-39).

2. The finish times are wildly inconsistent in a way that suggests mixed data: the top five finish between 1:30 and 1:43, then finishers 6–16 range from 1:58 all the way to 4:56 — with finisher 8 (1:58) sandwiched between finishers at 2:38 and 2:46, and finisher 9 (3:23) placed ahead of finisher 10 (2:45). The ordering by "division place" doesn't match the finish times, which is only possible if the place assignments themselves are incorrect.

Rather than write a recap that invents explanations for these inconsistencies or silently ignores them, I'd rather flag them so you can check the source data. Specifically:

• Are some of these athletes mis-assigned to this age group?
• Is the "women's" gender label a data pipeline error?
• Is the place ordering correct despite the non-monotonic finish times?

Once you can confirm or correct the data, I'm happy to write the full recap.
