She didn't run wire-to-wire — her gender place dipped as low as 13th at the first check before she steadily climbed back, cracking the top 10 among all women by the final stretch and finishing 8th. The decisive move came on the Quartz→Chain of Lakes segment, where she posted the 3rd-fastest women's split in the field, a surge that helped her build the cushion she'd ultimately need.
