On the demanding KT 22→Finish segment, she posted the 83rd-fastest women's split, actually gaining ground in the women's standings by climbing from 90th to 86th. Betsy Nye of Truckee — who knows this high-country terrain well — took 2nd in 1:17:56, running a 21:36-per-mile average and holding steady at 105th among women throughout that final segment. The gap to Oswald was real and decisive, but Nye was never threatened from behind.
