Justine Gonzalez, 33, from Los Angeles, made sure there was no drama at the front either, running a steady 10:17/mi to finish in 1:03:53 and win the NB30-34 race by a commanding 16 minutes.

Behind her, the real contest was the gap itself. Pat Robinson, 32, running on home turf in San Francisco, posted a 12:51/mi pace to finish second in 1:19:53 — a full 8:39 ahead of Medha Jain, 30, of Mountain View, who completed the course in 1:28:32 at 14:15/mi. Robinson's local knowledge of those rolling SF streets didn't close the gap to Gonzalez, but it was more than enough to secure the runner-up spot.

With only three finishers, this was a small but determined NB30-34 field.
