• Sydney Wingler, 22, Strongsville — won the F20-24 age group in 19:04 at a blistering 6:08/mi, more than seven minutes clear of the field.
• Lilly Putnam took 2nd in 26:10 (8:25/mi), with Samantha Ott rounding out the podium in 28:21 (9:07/mi).
• A fierce four-way battle for 4th through 7th played out within a 68-second window: Clara Mcguan (29:08), Kaitlyn Huffman (29:13), Sophia Min (29:15), and Anna Falcone (30:07).
• Just one second separated 7th-place Anna Falcone (30:07) from 8th-place Sophie Scherner (30:08) — both from Morris Plains, NJ, running nearly the same race at 9:42/mi.

Sydney Wingler didn't just win the F20-24 age group — she redefined the top of it. Her 19:04 finish at 6:08/mi was in a different conversation entirely from the rest of the 64-woman field. The gap to runner-up Lilly Putnam of North Royalton was 7 minutes and 6 seconds — a margin that speaks for itself on a 5K course in 67°F heat with a 15 mph wind and 83% humidity. Wingler was simply operating at another level.

Putnam's 26:10 locked up 2nd with a comfortable cushion over Samantha Ott (28:21, 9:07/mi) of Parma, who held off a tight cluster chasing her down. Behind Ott, the race got genuinely tense: Lakewood's Clara Mcguan (4th, 29:08) and Toledo's Kaitlyn Huffman (5th, 29:13) were separated by just five seconds, with Westlake's Sophia Min (6th, 29:15) only two seconds further back. Three athletes, two seconds — that's the kind of racing that makes a 5K worth watching.

Further down, the New Jersey contingent made their presence felt. Anna Falcone and Sophie Scherner, both from Morris Plains, crossed in 30:07 and 30:08 respectively — one second apart after 3.1 miles together. Ashley Ward (9th, 30:39) and Mingda Liu of Cleveland Heights (10th, 30:48) kept the pressure on through the back half of the top ten, while a tight cluster around the 31-minute mark — Peyton Facemire, Ja'nelle Lindsey, Hannah Coon, and Taylor Chaney all finishing between 30:55 and 31:03 — showed just how competitive the middle of this field was on a humid Cleveland morning.
