The battle for 3rd through 5th unfolded among three Kalaheo neighbors. Judith Emmett, 79, claimed 3rd in 3:30:10 at 16:02/mi, posting the 750th-fastest women's split on the HALF to 11.05 Mile segment and briefly climbing to 776th among women before the final miles. Deborah Gunning, 77, finished 4th in 3:33:15 — just three minutes back — while Leyte Aguada, also 79, came home 5th in 3:43:18 at 17:02/mi.

Linda Wolff of Cedar Falls, IA closed out the six-woman F75-79 field in 3:58:23, crossing in just under four hours at 18:11/mi. Six women aged 75 to 79 finishing a half marathon in Kauai's heat and humidity — that's the real headline.
