Rob Hennick of Moorpark, CA, took the M55-59 title in 1:42:03, averaging 7:47 per mile across San Francisco's demanding course. At 59, he was the oldest of the top three — and the fastest. His gender-wide place tells the story of a controlled, progressive race: he moved from 259th among men at the first checkpoint all the way to 167th by the finish, steadily picking off runners across every segment.

Matthew Bentzel of San Jose gave chase throughout, clocking 1:42:50 at 7:51/mi. The 47-second gap at the line was the product of a real gap in effort — Hennick's 7:47 pace was meaningfully quicker, and Bentzel couldn't fully close it. Third place went to Darryl Fenwick of Mountain View, who ran 1:45:39 (8:04/mi) and was the race's most dramatic mover in M55-59, surging from 607th among men early on to 251st by the finish. His strong closing segment — posting the 136th-fastest split in the field on the 11.45M-to-finish stretch — is what powered that climb. Carl Miller of Orinda matched Fenwick's 8:04/mi average but finished 12 seconds back at 1:45:51, good for 4th.

Tim Nufire, the lone San Francisco local in the top five, rounded out the podium chase in 5th at 1:47:01 (8:10/mi), while Peter Nguyen finished 6th in 1:49:04. Beyond the top six, the M55-59 field showed real depth: Yuen-Shung Chieh went 1:52:59 in 7th, and nine men finished under 1:57 — all of it earned on a cool but heavy morning on the streets of San Francisco.
