• Melanie Chang (3rd, 1:50:44) started strong among the women but faded through the middle miles; Feili Duosi (4th, 1:54:39) made the opposite move, charging from deep in the women's field to nearly close the gap at the end.

Yanhong Zhang, 53, from Woodland, CA, ran a commanding race from start to finish. She entered the women's field ranked 89th at the first checkpoint and steadily climbed, reaching 52nd among all women by the finish — a sustained, methodical move through the field. Her 8:02/mi average was a clear step above the rest of F50-54, and she posted the 27th-fastest women's split on the 10.54M–11.05M segment, showing she still had something left when it mattered most.

Lorrie Tarango (2nd, 1:48:53) ran a disciplined race of her own, sitting around 100th–115th among women through the middle miles before finishing 99th — a solid hold. The 3:36 gap to Zhang was decisive, but Tarango's 91st-fastest women's closing split showed genuine finishing strength. Melanie Chang (3rd, 1:50:44) tells a different story: she came through early checkpoints as high as 75th among women but gradually faded to 122nd by the finish, her 116th-fastest women's split on the 6.15M–10.54M stretch reflecting a tough middle stretch on the San Francisco streets.

Feili Duosi (4th, 1:54:39) was one of the biggest movers in the entire F50-54 field, climbing from 374th among women at the first checkpoint all the way to 184th by the finish — a relentless grind forward. LingLing Sun (5th, 1:55:04) and Hongtao Liu (6th, 1:55:15) finished just 11 seconds apart. And the three-way photo finish at 12th–14th — Telegan, De La Rosa, and Lebeda crossing in 2:01:59, 2:02:00, and 2:02:01 — was the tightest cluster of the day, with just two ticks of the clock separating all three.
