Brooklyn Wake made her move count where it mattered. The 13-year-old from Clovis was already 11th among women by the time she hit the final segment, and she kept the pressure on all the way to the tape — her 7:42/mi average was a full 26 seconds per mile faster than anyone else in the group. In a field of nine, that kind of gap is decisive.

Behind her, Mckenzie Feagin turned in the most dramatic position swing of the race. The 14-year-old from Fresno sat 30th among women at the 1-mile checkpoint and finished 11th — a climb of 19 places through the closing miles. Her 50:32 and 8:08/mi average were comfortably clear of the rest of the field, and her final-segment speed ranked 14th among all women.

K. Giotta told the opposite story: the 12-year-old from Turlock was 28th among women at the mile mark before fading to 72nd by the finish, the sharpest reverse in the group over that stretch. Isabella Ganzenhuber, meanwhile, ran a composed race in third — moving from 69th among women at the mile to 28th at the finish, a steady climb that earned her the bronze.

At the back, Zoey Renaud and A. Renaud — a 13-year-old and a 10-year-old, both from Clovis — finished the 10K together in just over two hours, crossing three seconds apart. On a warm November morning in Fresno, finishing is the whole point.
