Alejandra Baglietto and Teri Barrett turned the F45-49 race into a private contest that the rest of the field could only watch from a distance. Both running 7:30-per-mile pace through a warm Fresno morning — 74°F under clear skies — they were locked together for the duration, and only the finest of margins separated them at the line. Baglietto's 46:35 earned her the win; Barrett's 46:37 was good enough for 2nd. Two seconds across 6.2 miles is about as close as it gets without sharing a place.

What makes the result even more striking is how both women moved through the broader women's field. Baglietto climbed from 14th to 3rd among all women; Barrett went from 15th to 4th — essentially running in tandem not just in time but in competitive trajectory. Baglietto's 1M-to-finish split ranked 6th among women, Barrett's 7th, confirming that their late-race speed was elite by any measure in this field.

Behind them, Audrey Peach (3rd, 58:01, 9:20/mi) and Maila Baker (4th, 58:21, 9:23/mi) ran their own close race, separated by just 20 seconds. Roxana Gonzales rounded out the top five in 59:59, sneaking under the hour mark, with Cari Lewis (1:00:06) and Allison Hosoda (1:00:09) close behind in a tight cluster from 6th through 9th. All 56 finishers in the F45-49 group made it to the line in what was a deep and competitive showing for the age group.
