Daniel Renteria put together the cleanest race in the M35-39 field, running 7:32 per mile through a warm Fresno morning — 74°F and clear — to take the win in 46:47. He entered the final stretch already moving through the men's field, climbing from 28th among men at the 1-mile mark to 24th by the finish, a sign he was accelerating while others faded.

Behind him, David Quenzer (48:02) and Ilia Ayzenshtok (48:27) rounded out the podium, with Daniel Schneider just four seconds back in 48:31. Those three were locked in a genuine battle — Quenzer made the most dramatic surge of the group, vaulting 26 spots in the men's field over the final stretch. Ayzenshtok and Schneider each climbed more than 25 spots as well, suggesting the whole front pack was running negative-split style, building through the race rather than going out hard.

Austin Spikes (48:42) completed a strong top five, just a minute off the winner's pace, while José Abundiz in 6th (49:38) held a clear buffer over the rest of the 48-finisher field. From 7th place onward, times spread quickly — David Alaniz opened the second tier at 52:34, and the gap between 6th and 7th alone was nearly three minutes. Renteria's margin of victory was comfortable, but the real story in M35-39 was the fierce, fast cluster that chased him all the way home.
