• Dennise Salazar-Maravilla won the F35-39 group in 1:28:34 (6:45/mi), finishing with the 6th-fastest women's split on the opening 1M→10K segment and climbing from 40th among women at the first checkpoint to 4th by the finish.
• Yanet Arikian took 2nd in 1:34:24 (7:12/mi), posting the 12th-fastest women's split on the 1M→10K and moving from 50th to 10th among women by the end.
• Chris Hiatt ran the 19th-fastest women's split on the 10K→Finish to climb from 106th among women at the first check all the way to 21st — the biggest mover on the back half in this group.
• A tight cluster formed at 4th–5th: Nicole Nast (1:42:16) and Laura Calderwood (1:44:42) both made strong moves across the second half of the race.

Dennise Salazar-Maravilla made her intentions clear early. She was already 4th among women by the 10K checkpoint and held that position all the way home, crossing in 1:28:34 — a pace of 6:45 per mile on a warm November morning in Fresno, with temperatures sitting at 74°F. That's a commanding win in the F35-39 group, and her 6th-fastest women's split on the opening segment signals she wasn't easing in — she went out with purpose and backed it up.

Yanet Arikian ran a composed race to claim 2nd in 1:34:24, nearly six minutes back but well clear of the rest of the field. She, too, was quick through the first major segment, posting the 12th-fastest women's split on the 1M→10K stretch. The gap between 1st and 2nd was decisive; the real drama in this group played out behind them.

Chris Hiatt's back-half surge was the most striking move of the day in the F35-39 field. Starting the race 106th among women, she was still 31st at the 10K mark — then unleashed the 19th-fastest women's split on the 10K→Finish to land 3rd in 1:41:06. Laura Calderwood pulled a similar trick, moving from 109th among women early to 27th by the finish with the 29th-fastest women's split on that same closing stretch. Both women clearly saved something for the second half, and both delivered when it counted.
