Napa Valley 5K: Tupy Takes the F21-24 Title in Dominant Fashion

Carina Tupy of Vacaville made her intentions clear from the start and never looked back. The 22-year-old crossed the line in 27:54 at a brisk 8:59/mi — more than a minute ahead of the next finisher in a 13-woman F21-24 field. On a cool, humid March morning in Napa, that kind of gap doesn't happen by accident. It was a controlled, confident performance that put the race away early.

Behind her, Tivian Luu of San Jose claimed 2nd in 29:03 (9:21/mi), while Berkeley's Ellie Suh held off the chase to take 3rd in 30:18 (9:45/mi). The 1:15 between them shows a genuine battle for the podium, with Luu running noticeably faster than Suh over those 3.1 miles. Nivetha Ramasamy of Los Altos added a strong 4th in 31:20 (10:05/mi), giving the top four a tight cluster before the field stretched out considerably.

From 5th onward, the race spread wide. Emmeline Mata (5th, 33:31) and Grace Curtis (6th, 34:05) were separated by only 34 seconds, with Dhruvi Faria close behind in 7th at 34:17 — a three-way battle in the mid-34-minute range. Holland Ferguson finished 8th in 36:20, followed by Charlene Navarro in 9th at 38:07. Abigail Seaman rounded out the top ten in 42:12, while Amber Maglalang (11th, 52:54), Miarose Ang (12th, 53:57), and Gala Jimenez (13th, 54:25) finished within two minutes of each other at the back of the field — their own quiet contest to the line.
