Rocket City 10K — F20-24: Alison Ray Dominates in the Cold

• Alison Ray wins in 45:07 (7:16/mi), finishing more than five minutes clear of the field — and she came in fresh off a 2nd-place finish in the women's 5K at this same event.

The 24-year-old from Knoxville ran a commanding 7:16/mi to finish in 45:07 — a full 5:01 ahead of second place. What makes that performance even more remarkable: Ray had already raced this weekend, earning 2nd in the women's 5K. Backing up a podium finish in one race with a dominant win in another on the same event weekend is a genuine standout story.

Grace Stucky, racing on home turf in Huntsville, was the clear runner-up at 50:08 and 8:04/mi — a solid gap back from Ray but well clear of the rest of the field. Betsy Murphy (52:14, 8:24/mi) and Adriana Wright (53:43, 8:39/mi) rounded out the podium and fourth place, each running their own clean race in the cold.

The battle for 5th was the tightest of the day. Emma Plummer of Madison and Caroline Ezzell of Dothan both clocked 53:55 at 8:41/mi — the timing chip alone separating them. Just behind, Carson Richardson (56:44) and Caila Batchelor (56:46) staged a nearly identical finish of their own, two seconds apart after more than nine minutes of racing per mile. The field spread out steadily from there, with Morgan Burnham and Kate Owens both finishing 19th and 20th in 1:08:03, another chiptime photo finish to close out the listed results.
