Collin Richardson took the M20-24 title in frigid Huntsville — 29 degrees, clear skies, and a 16 mph wind making every mile feel harder than the clock suggests. His 7:40/mi average held off Birmingham's Raymond Pharr, who crossed in 47:49 at 7:42/mi. Thirteen seconds separated them, a margin that sounds comfortable until you realize Pharr was closing. These two ran the tightest duel of the morning in this age group.

Behind them, the battle for the final podium spot was even more dramatic. Caleb Winebrener (Owens Cross Roads) and Steve Jung (Madison) finished in 48:36 and 48:38 respectively — two seconds apart after 6.2 miles of racing in the cold. Winebrener held on, but Jung was right there at the line. Saenz then completed a remarkably compressed top five at 48:45, meaning the 1st through 5th finishers were all within 69 seconds of each other — a testament to how competitive this group ran.
