San Francisco's 60°F morning with a stiff 17 mph wind set a demanding stage, and Abigail Pradere of Carson City answered it emphatically. She held the top women's spot from the opening split through the finish line, and then turned the screws on the 2.5K-to-finish segment with the fastest closing split among all women — a 5:58/mi average that left no doubt about who owned this race.

Mackinly Kifer of Shiner, TX ran her own composed race to claim 2nd in 19:25, posting the 2nd-fastest women's closing split. What makes Kifer's afternoon remarkable, though, is the full picture: she had already run the San Francisco Marathon earlier in the weekend, finishing 9th among women in that race. Backing up a marathon with a 19:25 5K is a feat worth its own headline.

Yukino Miyazaki (3rd, 23:17) was the division's most notable mover in the second half, climbing from 17th to 15th among women on the closing leg to lock up the final podium spot. Pilar Alvarez of San Francisco made a similar push — 27th to 24th among women — to finish 4th in 24:00, with Olivia Honore (5th, 24:25) and Anna Baron (6th, 24:28) separated by just three seconds behind her.

The field thinned out steadily from there, with Isa Zaman (7th, 24:56), Nicole Leary (8th, 25:01), Jasmine Arunachalam (9th, 25:05), and Estefana Perez (10th, 25:11) rounding out the top ten within a 15-second window — a tight pack that kept the race interesting deep into the results sheet.
