Running at 6:45/mi through the city's cool, humid morning air, she held 9th among all women at both checkpoints and never wavered, closing with the 9th-fastest women's split on the 4.62M-to-finish stretch. Her 41:57 was in a class of its own — a 2:31 gap to second place that left no doubt about who was in charge.

Megan Faucher (Berkeley, 44:28, 7:09/mi) ran a composed, consistent race to claim 2nd, holding 11th among women throughout and delivering the 18th-fastest women's closing split. Behind her, Sally Zhao made it a San Francisco homecoming of sorts — the 28-year-old crossed in 46:00 to take 3rd, a notable improvement on the context we have: she finished 8th among women at this same race in 2023 in 44:01. That 2023 time was faster, but the F25-29 podium in 2025 is a different prize entirely.

The race's most compelling late move belonged to Grace DePaull. The 25-year-old from Syracuse entered the final segment sitting 33rd among women and ran the 11th-fastest women's closing split to rocket up to 26th — good enough for 4th in F25-29 at 46:58.
