On Sunday, under cool, overcast skies, she erased nearly three minutes from that mark and took the win in 57:42 — a 9:17/mi clip that put her in a different race from everyone else in the field. The gap behind Na was substantial. Strong crossed in 1:20:24 at 12:56/mi to take 3rd, while Mahasupap finished 4th in 1:22:16 at 13:14/mi — a 1:52 gap after more than 80 minutes of racing. Strong held the 10th-fastest women's closing split, Mahasupap the 11th, meaning neither gave much ground on the back half. In a four-person field, every place counts, and both earned theirs.
