• Tim Roper won the M65-69 age group in 25:20 (8:09/mi) — more than three minutes clear of the field on a frigid 29°F morning.
• Parker Bond claimed 2nd in 28:39 (9:13/mi), nearly four minutes ahead of 3rd place.
• Gregory Carpenter and an anonymous 67-year-old both crossed in 34:50 (11:13/mi), with Carpenter edging the anonymous finisher for 3rd by the slimmest of margins.
• A tight three-way cluster closed out places 6–8: Duane Diegel (6th, 44:10), John McCusker (7th, 44:11), and Hank Lopez (8th, 44:30) — separated by just 20 seconds across three finishers.

With temperatures sitting at 29°F and a 16 mph wind cutting through Huntsville, the M65-69 field of ten didn't just show up — they earned every step. And nobody earned more than Tim Roper, the local 67-year-old who turned in a commanding 25:20 to take the age group title. His 8:09/mi pace was a full minute per mile faster than runner-up Parker Bond's 9:13/mi, and the gap at the line — 3:19 — reflected exactly that sustained advantage from start to finish.

Bond, 68, out of Alabaster, held 2nd place comfortably, finishing in 28:39 and putting nearly six minutes of daylight between himself and the next finishers. That next tier belonged to Gregory Carpenter (65, Madison) and an anonymous 67-year-old, both clocking 34:50 at 11:13/mi. The places differ, so Carpenter holds 3rd by the narrowest of timing margins — a sliver that doesn't show up on the clock but absolutely shows up in the results.

The most entertaining battle of the day unfolded further back, where Diegel, McCusker, and Lopez raced each other to a near-photo-finish across 6th, 7th, and 8th. A single second separated Diegel from McCusker, and Lopez came through 19 seconds later — all three running around 14:13–14:19/mi in the cold. Bill Lomax (65, Huntsville) rounded out the named finishers in 9th with a 51:41, and the 10th finisher, anonymous, completed the field in 58:34.
