Adrienne Foell, just 20 years old, made the F20-24 race look straightforward — but the numbers tell a more impressive story. Holding 7th among all women from start to finish at a 7:25-per-mile clip, in 70°F heat with 17 mph winds and heavy humidity, she was the clear class of the age group. Her 10-minute gap over second place wasn't a photo finish — it was a statement.

Claire Peter of Huntsville held second comfortably in 1:47:27, but the real action in the closing stretch was a few spots back. Avery Evans and Natalie Dowd were both climbing through the women's field on the run home — Evans moving from 49th to 41st among women, Dowd from 76th to 51st — posting nearly identical closing splits that landed them just two minutes apart at the line (1:57:42 vs. 1:59:57). Morgan Misenar wasn't far behind in fifth, also gaining ground late.

The race's most dramatic moment, though, came at the back of the top ten. Higginbotham, Turnbow, and Tunstall — all from Alabama, all 23 years old — converged in a finish that the clock could barely separate. One second covered all three of them, with places decided by timing precision rather than any gap a spectator could have spotted. In a 23-woman field on a tough weather day, that kind of racing speaks for itself.
