Caroline Brossart came to Napa and made it look like a different race entirely. The 23-year-old from Monte Sereno crossed in 20:53 at a 6:43/mi clip — nearly four minutes ahead of the next finisher in a field of eight. That's not a close win; that's a statement.

Kaley Missert of Napa claimed 2nd in 24:43, running a solid 7:57/mi on her home turf. The gap back to 3rd was another 3:54, which is where the real drama of the day unfolded. Katie Kleis (3rd, 28:37) and Breana Parks (4th, 29:19) ran each other honest through the cold morning air — 36°F at the gun — with just 42 seconds ultimately separating them at the line. Kleis held on, but Parks made it a race.

The back half of the field stretched across the 31–35 minute range, with Jessica Pacheco finishing 5th in 31:42 (10:12/mi), Taea Jackson 6th in 32:41 (10:31/mi), and Jennifer Lobello 7th in 33:06 (10:39/mi) — those three separated by just 84 seconds across the board. Melina Webb brought it home in 8th with a 35:05, completing a field that covered more than 14 minutes from Brossart's blistering opener to the final finisher.
