On a crisp 36°F morning in Napa, Tyler Raff made the M1-17 race look straightforward. The 14-year-old from Oakdale crossed in 21:28 at a 6:55/mi clip — a full 1:36 ahead of runner-up Jason Longoria (23:04, 7:25/mi). That gap, built and held over just 3.1 miles, speaks to how cleanly Raff controlled the race from the front.

Behind Longoria, 12-year-old Jericho Corpus of Vacaville ran a composed 23:12 to take 3rd — impressive given he's one of the youngest in the top half of the field. The next battle was the highlight of the chasing pack: Colin Vensko, 11, from Pleasant Hill (25:32) and Garrett Hoffman, 13, from San Francisco (25:33) ran nearly the entire race in lockstep, with Vensko edging 4th by a single second.

Rowen Valladares (6th, 26:12) and Graham Koch (7th, 28:11) rounded out a competitive top seven before the field spread considerably. Cooper Carey, Preston Carter, and William Borje — all 12 — finished 10th through 12th, while 11-year-old Devin Simpson took 13th in 37:03. The back of the field brought some of the most striking stories: 7-year-old Ethan Ziese (14th, 43:54) and 8-year-old Naevan Sinnathamby (15th, 44:25) both covered 3.1 miles in under 45 minutes, and 4-year-old Damari Simpson of Vacaville finished 18th in 49:22 — completing a Napa Valley 5K at age four.
