Girls U-17 Half Marathon: Schlatter dominates with a sub-1:33 effort

• Corinna Schlatter (1st, 1:32:16) ran a 7:02/mi average, finishing nearly 28 minutes ahead of 2nd place — the widest margin in the six-runner U-17 field.
• Sequoia Ashby (2nd, 2:00:06) held a comfortable gap over 3rd, finishing more than 26 minutes clear of Ryan Honda.
• Ryan Honda (3rd, 2:26:31) and Kadence Steuben (4th, 2:36:55) were separated by just over 10 minutes, with both fading in the back half — Honda's 6.9M→Finish split ranked 847th among women, Steuben's 1,007th.
• Taryn Creedon (5th, 2:54:25) and Tvisha Gupta (6th, 2:59:04) rounded out the field within about 4.5 minutes of each other.

Fourteen-year-old Corinna Schlatter from Saint Helena put on a commanding performance, running 7:02/mi across 13.1 miles in cool, calm conditions to win the U-17 girls race in 1:32:16. She was moving up through the women's field all day — climbing from 48th to 40th among women in the back half — and her 6.9M→Finish split ranked 35th among all women in the race. At 14, she was the youngest finisher in the group and, by a wide margin, the fastest.

Sequoia Ashby of Eureka claimed 2nd in 2:00:06, averaging 9:10/mi — a notably different pace than Schlatter's — and also gained ground in the women's field over the final stretch, moving from 442nd to 369th. The gap between Ashby and the rest of the field was nearly as decisive as Schlatter's: 16-year-old Ashby finished more than 26 minutes ahead of Ryan Honda (3rd, 2:26:31, Petaluma), who ran 11:11/mi.

Honda and Kadence Steuben (4th, 2:36:55, Pleasanton) both lost ground in the women's standings over the second half — Honda slipping from 769th to 829th among women, Steuben from 898th to 981st — indicating a tougher final stretch for both. Taryn Creedon of San Rafael finished 5th in 2:54:25 (13:18/mi), holding nearly steady in the women's field from 6.9M to the finish. Tvisha Gupta of Cupertino closed out the U-17 field in 2:59:04, finishing within five minutes of Creedon to cap a six-runner group that spanned more than 86 minutes from first to last.
