The 32-year-old from San Rafael ran a 6:05/mi pace to finish in 18:55, a performance so commanding it put her more than five and a half minutes ahead of every other woman in the field. Behind Bui, Brittany Maxson of Napa claimed 2nd in 24:25 at 7:52/mi, running the kind of local-knowledge race that holds up on a chilly morning. She had nearly a full minute on 3rd-place Kathy Hauptman (25:23, 8:10/mi), who edged out her Washington, DC training partner Grace Ubersax by 54 seconds for the final podium spot. Ubersax crossed 4th in 26:17.

The race's most competitive stretch played out from 5th through 8th place, where Andrea French (26:51), Griffin Fuller (27:00), Claudia Samuels (28:02), and Erin Scally (28:15) were separated by just 84 seconds across four spots — a genuine pack battle in the rain.
