Alex C Demosthenes, the 37-year-old from Wheat Ridge, CO, ran a commanding 19:34 at 6:18/mi to take the win on a raw, rainy Napa morning. Julio Ramirez Correa, 39, from just up the road in Pope Valley, gave chase and finished a solid second in 20:07 — but 33 seconds is a decisive margin in a 5K, and Demosthenes was never seriously threatened. These two ran in a different gear from everyone else in the field.

Behind that front pair, Christopher Knific (Los Angeles, CA) held off Alfredo Alvarez for the final podium spot, crossing in 23:39 (7:37/mi) to Alvarez's 24:39 (7:56/mi). A full minute separated them at the line. Fifth through eighth place was where the real racing tightened up: David Knapp (26:32), Julio Grana (26:48), Tyler Stevenson (27:07), and Jeff Fletcher (27:14) were packed into a 42-second window, making that stretch of the leaderboard the most competitive cluster of the morning.

Further back, Derek Fletcher (28:47), Robert Galam (28:55), Than Nguyen (29:03), and Alexander Pitts (29:08) were similarly bunched in the 9:16–9:23/mi range, with just 21 seconds covering all four.
