Three young men toed the line in Napa on a raw, rainy Sunday morning — 41°F, light rain, 85% humidity — and Ethan Luh of Los Altos made it look the most comfortable. The 18-year-old ran a steady 6:45/mi to finish in 20:58, and that pace proved more than enough to claim the M18-20 title outright.

The real contest for second place was settled early. Carlos Ramirez, racing on his home turf in Napa, pushed through the conditions at 7:03/mi to finish in 21:55 — 57 seconds behind Luh but a commanding 9 minutes and 56 seconds clear of 3rd place.
