None of that seemed to matter much to Amy Crain of Concord, CA, who ran 6:16 per mile from start to finish and was never seriously challenged for the win. What makes her performance even more striking is the trajectory: she began the race sitting 8th among all women and steadily moved forward, finishing 4th in the overall women's field.
