Sofia Mosqueda was never really in doubt. The Sacramento 51-year-old ran a composed 10:02/mi pace to finish in 2:11:31, and her trajectory through the women's field told the story — she moved from 56th among women at the first checkpoint all the way to 32nd by the finish, steadily hunting down runners across every mile. That final Mile 10→Finish stretch was her sharpest moment: the 17th-fastest women's split on that segment, a late-race push that underlined her control of the age group.

Karen Davenport of Elk Grove made a similar move through the women's field, climbing from 44th to 35th and posting the 30th-fastest women's split over the final miles at 10:13/mi — a noticeably slower pace than Mosqueda's, and a 2:29 gap confirmed it. Still, Davenport's 2:14:00 was a clear and comfortable second. Mai Nakamoto rounded out the podium in 3rd at 2:33:44 (11:44/mi), also moving up the women's field from 88th to 62nd — a strong finish-line push of her own, with the 52nd-fastest women's split in the closing stretch.

The most dramatic moment in the middle of the pack came at 4th and 5th: Mandy Sedlak and Melissa Wilson both crossed in 2:40:35 at 12:15/mi, separated only by the finest margin the timing system could detect. Sedlak, who had faded slightly through the women's field mid-race, held on for 4th; Wilson, who ran the 75th-fastest women's split from Mile 4 to Mile 10, finished just a breath behind in 5th. Hiroko Furukawa (6th, 2:41:24), Nancy Redfield (7th, 2:45:14), Janet Scott (8th, 2:53:26), and Adrienne Morelos (9th, 2:55:15) rounded out the group, with Morelos completing the course in 13:22/mi on a warm morning along the Parkway.
